What we collect when you shop at maxnutritionusa.com, why we collect it, who it goes to and the rights you have.
The short version
- We collect what we need to ship your order: name, address, email, phone and what you bought.
- Payments happen on Square's secure checkout. We never see or store your card number.
- We use Google Analytics (cookies) and our own cookie-free analytics to see how the site is used.
- We don't sell your information or share it for targeted advertising.
- California residents can ask to know, get a copy of, correct or delete their information by emailing maxnutritionusa@gmail.com.
Who we are
MaxNutritionUSA LLC, doing business as Max Nutrition USA ("we", "us"), runs the online supplement store at maxnutritionusa.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the website, how we use it and the choices you have. Questions go to maxnutritionusa@gmail.com.
Information we collect
When you place an order
Your name, shipping address, email address, phone number and the items you buy. The shipping address you type into the cart is used to quote shipping and is passed to the secure checkout page so you don't have to type it twice.
Payment information
You pay on Square's secure hosted checkout page, by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay or Afterpay where offered. Your full card number goes to Square, not to us; we never see or store it. We receive the order details and a record that payment was made.
When you contact us
If you email us or message us on Instagram, we receive what you send, including your name and contact details.
Automatically, when you browse
Pages you view, the site that sent you, your device and browser type, and approximate location (city level, from your IP address). We collect this with Google Analytics, which uses cookies, and with our own first-party analytics, which uses no cookies and stores only a random visitor ID in your browser. Neither one records what you type into forms.
Stored only on your device
Your cart, any promo code you entered and the shipping address you typed are saved in your browser's local storage so they're still there when you come back. That data stays on your device until you check out or clear your browser's site data.
How we use it
- To process, pack and ship your order, and to check stock so we don't sell what we don't have.
- To send order, shipping and tracking updates by email or text message.
- To answer your questions and handle returns and refunds.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
- To understand which pages and products people use, so we can improve the store.
- To meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
We don't send marketing emails or texts unless you've asked to receive them. If we offer them in the future, we'll ask for your consent first, and every message will include a way to opt out.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the store, and only as needed for that job:
- Square processes payments and keeps our order records. Square's own privacy notice applies to the checkout page: squareup.com/legal/privacy. If you pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay or Afterpay, that provider's privacy terms also apply.
- Shippo and the U.S. Postal Service receive your name and shipping address to quote rates, create labels and deliver your package.
- Our messaging provider sends shipping and tracking notifications to the email address and phone number on your order.
- Google provides Google Analytics and the web fonts used on this site.
- Netlify hosts the website and runs the code that builds your checkout.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to tell visits apart and measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking cookies won't stop you from shopping or checking out.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we've collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we disclose it to.
- Get a copy of that information.
- Delete it, subject to exceptions such as records we must keep for taxes or to complete an order.
- Correct information that's inaccurate.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of today; if that ever changes, we'll update this policy first and honor opt-out requests, including Global Privacy Control signals.
- Not be discriminated against for using any of these rights.
In the past 12 months we have collected these categories: identifiers (name, email, phone, shipping address), commercial information (orders and purchase history), internet or other electronic activity (pages viewed and analytics data) and approximate geolocation. We collect them from you, from your device and from our checkout provider, for the purposes listed under "How we use it", and we disclose them only to the service providers listed above. We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you; card details go directly to Square.
To make a request, email maxnutritionusa@gmail.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We'll verify your request by matching details from your order, such as your name, email and order date, and respond within 45 days. You can use an authorized agent; we'll ask for proof that you gave them permission. California residents may also ask, once a year and free of charge, about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing (California Civil Code 1798.83). We make no such disclosures.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them to fulfill the order, handle returns and meet tax, accounting and legal requirements. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of the analytics tools. Data stored in your browser stays until you clear it.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, payments happen on Square's secure checkout page, and access to order data is limited to the people and services that need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
This store is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Other websites
Links to other sites, such as Instagram or a carrier's tracking page, are covered by those sites' own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
